Project Architect

We are seeking talented, ambitious and well-rounded Project Architect with 8-15 years of experience with a large scale office project. The ideal candidate should be extremely professional, possess strong communication skills, be able to oversea schematic and design development documents.

This position is for Office in New York.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8-15 years’ experience with specific knowledge of Schematic and Design development process.

  • Professional degree in architecture. Architecture License is desired but not mandatory.

  • Strong organizational, communication and coordination skills required.

  • Large scale office building experience is preferred.

  • Experience in complex geometry project.

  • Experience coordinating consultants and managing a design team, including architectural staff members.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit is required.

  • Candidates must have current valid work status in the US.

Qualification requirements

  • Assure the project design is fully developed and complete for the entire project, design decisions are consistent throughout and translated into coherent well-organized documents using company standard methods to the greatest degree possible.

  • Produce drawings and models while supervising and managing all other production from the design team.

  • Balance a fast-paced work environment and execute obstacles and tight deadlines with a positive attitude. The candidate should be highly reliable, strong communicator, and able to prioritize and multi-task as required.

  • Oversee design schedule to insure design decisions and documentation are complete at critical milestones.

  • Communicate work details in every step of construction, including detailed documentation phases and extensive materials knowledge.

  • Work closely with consultants to preserve design intent through SD, DD, CD

  • Lead/coordinate communication efforts with consultants and within project team.

  • Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules.

  • Manage team of junior designers.

  • Ensure fulfillment of all contractual requirements for professional services.

  • Develop and maintain work plans.

BIM Specialist

CAL seeks a highly motivated BIM Expert to join our Office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Architects for the successful delivery of drawings and models for highly challenging projects around the world. This role will require a combination of exemplary technical, organizational, and teamwork skills. We are seeking a team member to be focused on BIM coordination.

Duties and Job Functions

  • Responsible for further developing, implementing and enforcing office-wide modeling and documentation standards, templates, file structures, and BIM workflows.

  • Provide technical support in Revit across multiple project teams. Assist with BIM setup, answer software questions, troubleshoot BIM-related design issues, and provide Revit training to staff as needed.

  • Interface with consultants to collaborate in a BIM environment with regular model sharing, coordination, and clash detection.

  • Help devise strategies for the integration of non-Revit 3D models (such as Inventor or Rhino) into a BIM environment.

  • Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company and industry standards of the project submissions.

  • Develop Revit content in response to project needs and to supplement company library.

  • Support with the printing, file upload, and archiving of deliverables.

  • Liaise with international experts, software support, and vendors as needed; keep office informed of new BIM industry developments.

Qualification requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Revit coordinator.

  • Expert knowledge of Revit and the Autodesk suite. (Please note that the office does not use Vectorworks.)

  • Applicants who are proficient in Dynamo and Grasshopper will be treated preferentially.

  • Prior experience working with complex geometry and/or scripting in Revit is desired.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic office with tight deadlines.

  • As this role will require working with every member of the office at various times, exemplary teamwork skills and positive attitude are mandatory.

  • Professional fluency in English is essential.

  • Eligible for employment in US.
